About the Band

Our Story

It all started out when Derek bought his first electric guitar. He had high hopes of being in a band with his best friend at the time, Joey Yancey. Something happened, and none of us really know what actually happened. They just stopped talking. Derek eventually made friends with this really cool kid from Saudi Arabia. He lived there but is from Alton. They started writing songs together, just to pass the time in social studies with weird Mr. Fields. Derek realized that Saudi was great band material. They started practicing in Saudi’s garage, just the two of them, all by themselves. They recorded a demo, with an extra guitarist, David O’dell. There were no drums in this demo. Prior to listening to their CD, they realized they needed a drummer. After weeks of searching, they turned to a fat kid that tap-danced and played linebacker on the middle school's football team (no lie, its all real), Nick Atkins-Harris. It took forever for Nick’s mom to let him off his extremely short leash, but they finally got Nick to practice with him. It turned out to be a match made in heaven, but sadly, Nick has gone away to Indiana. After a few months of desperate searching, Saudi and Lauren befriended Mike McCann, during marching 100. Being a snare in the drum line, the son of Lauren's drum teacher, AND having a drum set, it was great. Soon they finally got really serious and finally landed their first gig. They opened then came Hanus Anus (Featuring the notorious Joey Yancey), The Latchkey Kids, Bad Logic, Dysphoria, Honorable Mention. During this show they used a singer for 2 songs. They wanted him and they got him. James winters was so excited he shook his house when he jumped up and down. As of Thursday, November 20th, B.J. Echt is the newest member of the band. He seems to fit right in already and has learned all of our songs within 3 practices. Thanks Bad Logic for breaking up, you have done us, and many others a huge favor!
